Vespel® S Polyimide Series
The Vespel® S product line is a very durable polyimide for demanding applications requiring excellent heat, abrasion and/or abrasion resistance, strength and impact resistance.
 
SP-1 is not populated. Best-in-class abrasion resistance and insulation at operating temperatures from cryogenic to 300°C. Low conductivity. The SP series has the highest elongation and purity. Available as custom parts or profiles.

SP-21 Graphite reinforced with low friction properties for a variety of lubricated or unlubricated applications. Available as custom parts or profiles.

SP-202 conductive parts (<10E2 ohm) help to eliminate static electricity. Excellent wear resistance, dimensional stability and good machinability at elevated temperatures. Available in profile form.

SP-211 has a lower coefficient of friction than SP-21 in various applications without lubrication. Available as custom parts or profiles.

SP-22 has the lowest thermal expansion and dimensional stability, providing design flexibility. Available as custom parts or profiles.

SP-221 is suitable for highly specialized applications, targeting soft metals in "non-lubricated" conditions. Available as custom parts.

SP-2515's low coefficient of thermal expansion, excellent wear resistance and low coefficient of friction facilitate dimensional control. Available as custom parts.

SP-3 has low outgassing properties and is suitable for vacuum and dry environments. Available in profile form.

SMR-0454 Graphite reinforced for reduced friction. Has high modulus, low elongation, high compressive strength, low creep, and less deflection under load. Available as custom parts.

ST-2010 is similar to SP-21 with enhanced toughness, higher elongation and better thermo-oxidative stability. Better resistance to solvents, acids and bases. Similar supply of custom parts available.

ST-2030 is similar to SP-22. Has been used in applications where low thermal expansion is more important than strength (which has been slightly reduced). Applications may include bearings, bushings and washers. Available as custom parts.

SCP-5000 Unfilled SCP-5000 has better plasma resistance, dimensional stability, and chemical resistance than unfilled SP-1. Similar to SP-1, SCP-5000 is also well insulated. It has the highest elongation and purity of the SCP class. Available in profile form.

SCP-5050, SCP-5009 & SCP-50094 have higher thermal oxidation resistance than SP polyimide, and have best-in-class chemical resistance.

SCP-5050 is comparable to the CTE of steel. SCP-5009 and SCP-50094 approximate the CTE of aluminum. Available as custom parts or profiles.

SMP-40025's high modulus and low elongation provide dimensional stability under high temperature and load conditions. Available as custom parts.

SF-0920, SF-0930, SF-0940 Best-in-class thermal and electrical insulation properties. Unique polyimide foam has higher durability than low density polyimide foam. Available as custom parts.
